btw i am new here:)

I'm sure other forum members with more experience will chip in, but I've only heard bad things about King's Cages!

I have a King's cage, and while it is a quality product...
Probably what you've heard bad about is the people behind the company :( customer service stinks too.

Welcome to the forum!!!

Since your new to birds, be careful on getting a Macaw as your first bird!!! They can be strong willed and needs proper training or they can easily hurt you even as a baby. Please do learn about them before proceeding!!!!

Welcome to the forum. :)

My Niko (B&G) is in a Kings cage, model #506, and I LOVE it! Built like a brick house, easy to clean, and after almost 5 years of heavy abuse it still looks brand new. :)

I agree with Michael about macaws not necessarily being a good choice for a first time bird owner. Have you ever handled one of these big guys?

I would never advise you to stop your research - research is great - BUT, please get hands-on experience before you take the plunge. :)

thanks for the help but i think i will be doing a lot more thinking on geting the b&g
so i will keep you posted

Big macs are just the best, but as others have said, you need to know how to handle one BEFORE getting one.

Permissive parenting does not work with macaws. They need a firm hand when they act up. If you do not know how (or if they figure out you can't control them) they might end up biting.

There's no such thing as a wishy washy macaw.
