Hi I have a blue fronted amazon and a macaw. I no they can eat lychees but i am not shore about the seed. I have not let them eat the seed yet. Can any one tell me if it is safe to eat the seed or not. Thank you Charmaine
I'm not sure, but I probably wouldn't risk it - not only are they very bitter, suggesting tannins, but they're also very slippery! I could imagine a bird accidentally swallowing one quite easily.

I've never had them show any interest in the seed. A couple of the zons will eat the flesh but drop the seeds though the bottom grate. My lychee tree has the smaller "yellowish" fruit. Not the big red ones.
