Lucky's Tale (Sad story with happy ending)
Lucky the cat didn't have such a great start in life.
Not much is known about him until he was around three weeks old when my grandparents found him, abandoned, in the middle of a road.
He had ear mites, fleas, and like all kittens his age, Lucky was not weaned. But his fortune changed the moment they picked him up and brought him home. His health problems were treated and he was brought through the weaning process.
He made new friends too: Himmel, an elderly dachshund, took Lucky in as if he was his puppy. Peppermint, a young yorkshire terrier, warmed up to the new arrival and soon became his pal. He now has a family who loves him, and a place to call home. (I basically call him my cat even though he's not!)
Each day he grew in size and strength until he had become a handsome young cat with the most beautiful gold eyes I have ever seen. It's hard to believe that on the 10th of June, he will be a year old!
Lucky arrives home
Lucky a week or so later
Lucky later on
Lucky when his eyes changed
I would add a present-day photo of him but the stinker won't stand still long enough for me to take one! He has the muscular yet lithe build of a typical American Shorthair. His eyes are so striking and I've never seen a cat with such pretty eyes!
