That's a really nice branch. Sorry it didn't work out for you. I'm sure someone with a Conure or Amazon will want it. If not, I'll pay the postage to send it to Maine for my budgies, but let's give people with bigger birds a chance first.

alright and thank you for both the offer and for the consideration for people with bigger birds.....i had hope ladyhawk would like it but nope not her cup of tea lol....i have apple trees in the back yard so come spring or summer i can get a real branch..and see if she likes it....if not well its her house and if she wants the dowls well i guess.....but i will make a small tree stand sort of thing for the corner of her cage with them too and see if she likes it...with the other animals i cant leve her cage door opened and give her free rain of the house but the cage i have houses 2 cokaatials comfortably hopefuly after she stops being scared of me and we become buddies i can put the cat in her room put the dogs out and get a harnas for her so she can do some flying around the house.....neither spike or i are up to chasing a bird around trying to get her to come and go back in her cage...my cocatials wore friendly and when out often sat on my hand or watched tv with me sitting on the arm of my chair....(all other animals out side or in there room) but when it was time for them to go back in there cages they would fly away every time i got close to them and being short theyd wait until i steped on the step tool to reach them then they would fly off to the other side of the house!!! lol a game of chase but when i got them they would gently peck my fingers and rub there faces on my hand lol then polighly hop back into there cage when i put them by the door lol

My birdie liked the dowel rods he came with too, but they were destroying his feet. I didn't give him a choice in the matter. The dowel rods were simply gone and he had to perch elsewhere.

thats my concern but ladyhawk simply refused to use the store bought tree branch (not real) humm maybe i can get spike to go out to the back yard and cut off an apple tree branch or two and let it dry for a few days then see if she will use that....with store bough one she avoided it like the plage hanging on to the sides of the cage or balancing on one of the round circle toys hanging from the cage... little one has a stubern streek in her lol but then again mom always said she never met anyone more stubbern them me lol !!! spike did bring in a branch from the yard but i think it was from a maple tree and i read there not good for parrolets huum wounder if i can get spike to go out and cut off a couple of apple tree branches ? he could ride the big tracker out back so it wouldnt take to long humm i'll what kind of mood hes in tomarrow lol

Our birds can be so ungrateful! That store bought branch looks expensive! They just have no idea how much we spend trying to make them healthy and happy.

lol iv found most my animal children are that way huum come to think about my human children worent much different when they wore young!! lol

no one else seems to want the branch do you still want it?

oh im so sorry for your loss.....take care of yourself and your loved ones im in michagin and there is no rush i'll just set it aside for you

I have one of those java branches that is fat like that one. The wood is so hard and smooth, smaller birds cant grab onto it.

thank you ....at least now i know why she avoided it like the plague lol her cage perches will have to do i guess until spring and i can get out to the apple trees...now should i leave the bark on or take it off when i get it

I always remove the bark.
I use a 4.5" grinder with a segmented masonry wheel. Both the grinders and wheels are cheap at Harbor Freight.
You might not need that as what I use most is mesquite.

My budgies had fun removing the bark from a few bark-on perches I bought on Amazon. I've heard of people leaving the bark on outdoor collected branches and birds love peeling it off but I would worry about insects and insect eggs/larvae under the bark. Probably would not harm birds but I don't like bugs in my house.

Agreed.
Also mesquite bark can be like a sandpaper perch. No good for the feet. If you have smooth bark then that shouldn't be an issue.

i have a very well equpied wood shop so taking the bark off will not be a proplem lol i also have a good stock of wood carving knives....my poor father he could never get it through his head when he need help building things or needed to borrow a tool it was daughter who he should call NOT one of his sons!! lol anytime he was working around the house they would send him to the store for something then speed dial me tell me what he was working on and what tools he needed and didnt have and then tell me come RIGHT over before he got back!! lol that was the easy part the hard part was getting him to let me HELP DO the work instead of just sit there watching him .... i had to sort of sneak into it...like when he left to go to the bathroom or something ....then when he was gone id quickly do as much as i could before he got back....of course he yelled at me for not waiting for him but ahh well such is life lol after he looked at it and saw it was done right he just started where i left off.... a few days later when he was gone i check the project out and see if it needed reinforcing or anything usuly it didnt but everybody was happy dad got to fix something and job was done right with the right tools and dad never know the difference..... my brothers on the other hand have no problem asking me to help lol which i am willing to do as long as they can lift up anything thats really heavy lol after all i am a girl and they have bigger muscles then i do lol

Bark on or bark off i would bake them to kill off anything that might be on them from the wild birds.

I'm lucky enough to have a custom sawmill about a mile away. I take my branches to them and they run them through the kiln when they fire it up.

AHH BUGS!!! i HATE bugs! just got finished giveing the 3 dogs and the cat flea baths , bombing the house and vacumeing with flea powder on the rugs i do this every few months lol we still wind up with a bug or two in the house from time to time but they are far and few between and dont last long in my house....the cat makes sure our house is mouse free as well....i HATE mice more then i do bugs lol only problem i have with the cat is that after she kills them she brings them to me and drops them in front of my chair ! lol which causes me to SCREAM spike comes a running and then disposes of the little rodant ..... maybe im feeding her to much lol but weve been here a few years now and the mice have learned this is NOT a good house to try to scavage in lol not to worry abotu ladyhawk...she and the dogs and cat wore put in the wood shop with the heater on while all this was happening...
