Oh, the ego... FangSgangaLang is blissfully unaware of handsome husband and stunning princess... he looks out at us with an indulgent expression that says "please, don't give me ALL the admiration! I'm sure they have their, uhhh... attributes..."
Not sure Lilly is aware of it yet but I’m certainly conscious of what a patient, indulgent and handsome pair of roosters I’m privileged to live with!
Poor old Fang. His last peaceful bastion, his "Fortress of Solitude" if you will, has been infiltrated by that little fuzzy green scuzzball, Her Royal Highness the Crown Princess. You would think having clipped wings would prevent her getting up to the dizzy heights of our wooden screen we keep by the front door but no, she just beats those little wings of hers at double time and she's up there in a flash. So now Fang really has nowhere to run to baby, nowhere to hide, the poor guy!
This is a short film of her high atop her new eyrie, from whence she buttfeathers all the lowly scummy peasants who are beneath her, namely me. Oh well I knew it was gonna happen!

Lol Scott, don’t think she hasn’t already tried! But she doesn’t need any extra adornment, she’s a precious little Crown Jewel just the way she is
Lovely Miss Lilly is less than her usual uber-glam self this morning! She has had a bath to spruce herself up for this evening's New Year celebrations
On behalf of Long-Suffering Hubby, Fang and Princess Lilly Pilly I would like to wish everyone in the Parrot Forums family a very bright, prosperous and happy 2019, and may the New Year bring some comfort to everyone who has lost a precious angel this year. To you I leave my very favourite "anonymous" poem for bird lovers:
Lend Me A Bird
"I will lend to you for a while, a bird," God said.
"For you to love her while she lives and to mourn for her when she is dead.
Maybe for twenty or forty years, or maybe for two or three.
But will you, 'til I call her back, take care of her for me?
She'll bring her charms to gladden you and should her stay be brief,
You'll always have her memories as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise that she will stay, since all from Earth return,
But there are lessons taught below that I want this bird to learn.
I've looked the whole world over in search of teachers true,
And from the folks that crowd life's land, I have chosen you.
Now will you give her all your love; nor think the labour vain;
Nor hate me when I come to take my lovely bird again?
I fancied that I heard them say, "Dear Lord, thy will be done,
for all the joys this bird will bring, the risk of grief we'll run!"
Will you shelter her with tenderness? Will you love her while you may?
And for the happiness you'll know, forever grateful stay?
But should I call her back much sooner than you've planned,
Please brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand.
If, by your love, you've managed, my wishes to achieve,
In memory of her you've loved, be thankful, do not grieve.
Cherish every moment of your feathered charge.
She filled your home with songs of joy the time she was alive.
Let not her passing take from you those memories to enjoy.
"I will lend to you, a Bird," God said, "and teach you all you have to do.
And when I call her back to Heaven, you will know she loved you too."
