I am a new owner of a beautiful fancy green cheek conure named kiwi =)
So I finally got my conure kiwi to step onto my fingers! Although i had to patiently lure her with an orange. I've been debating on if I should let her out of her cage maybe to get used to the area she's in if that would make her more comfortable but I dnt know if that's a good idea or not... does anyone think she would approach me easier outside of her cage?

Hooray! I think letting her out of the cage would be worth a try. Some birds are friendlier outside of the cage.

choose a time when there is no one about, so no sudden opening of doors etc, make sure all windows are shut

have a back up plan incase you have problems getting her back in her cage lol
i normally start the, getting nut in cage tricks about 1 hour before i need my nut in, this way there is no ruch an i can stay relaxed an so can the nut

so i put in treats, in view of nut or toys

there is also a perch on nuts cage door, i will hang a toy of so as soon as she is on it, i can shut door

that perch on door is also great for when i let her out, as it removes the tension caused by me having to put my hands into her cage!

I would let her out. If she gets frightened by something she will probably be even more likely to step up for you, like if she finds herself on the floor or hanging from a picture frame.

Remy and Suebee have already given you some good advice. And if you don't feed her while she is out, she will be more likely to go back into the cage on her own if needed. Or lure her in with a treat. Make sure she sees it in your hand and sees where you put it though.

I let Kiwi out of her cage today and she just kind of looked around in awe lol. i sat next to her and fed her some sunflower seeds and talked to her a little bit but she was still very much afraid of me
