So I was wondering..... is it ok to kiss your birds? I love to kiss all my pets but does it make you sic to kiss your birds? Any thoughts would be 1Dfull! Thanks :)

As long as the kisses are dry everyone is ok. Just make sure you aren't wearing any lip products on your lips.

Don't kiss your bird on the beak. We have bacteria in our mouths that is dangerous for them.

I kiss my birds all the time! But just not intimate kissing....lol....

what would a day be like without kissing your bird, lol!
just keep it dry, and everything will be fine.

Yep dry kisses for me too..

Kenji demands kisses daily, if he had it his way I'd be giving him kisses non stop LOL But as said above, dry kisses. We have gram negative bacteria in our saliva(most mammals do) that avian do not have. If our parrots ingest our saliva they can get Salmonellae, this includes letting them drink out of your used water cup, or sharing food that you've already taken a bite out of.

Mishka would die if I did not kiss him when waking up in the morning, leaving and returning home from work.

He tells me "Please give me a kiss"
How could I refuse that

The kisses are dry, on the beak and without any lipstick

I smother Audrey with Kisses lol, we all do. But yes, dry kisses :)

Not weird! I'm smelling my bird right now lmao

smelling is one of the best things!. Halo my lovebird smells amazing!!!

After our African grey died we didn't have a bird for a couple of years. When I picked up Sammie I was like YUM! I love the smell of parrots, macaws are my favorite, but I love them all.

That kinda depends on the size of the beaks... Greenwing beaks have plenty of room for kisses... just watch out for the bird trying to "slip you the tongue!"

I kiss my Bacci every day....it's difficult though, because he is SO CUTE, I really wanna just take a bite out of him!!!

Oh, and I too am a RUTHLESS BIRDY SNIFFER!!!!

Gilbert so loves kisses that like many birds, he stands in or on his cage making huge, dramatic kissing noises. Sometimes it's at me, sometimes he is kissing a toy, but the sound is hilarious. ("Gil! You're a good boy!!!! muuuuwahhh, muuuuuuwaaaahhh, you're such a good bird" is screaming through the living room on a regular basis.)

My only issue is that he tries kissing my dog. They have slipped each other wet kisses before and i even brought it up at the vet last time i went. (Since there wasn't a bacterial infection, it's ok, but i'm being more diligent about keeping them separated because it will be a constant with wet doggy kisses.) Vet told me that the occasional accidental bird slipping the tongue or kissing the dog doesn't usually cause a problem, so don't worry, but it is definitely possible to give the bird a bacterial infection from it so avoid it.
