Kidney infection

Hi all. Milo is back in hospital. The kidney infection is back with lots of urine cristals and they said he might have liver damage. They did blood tests today and I will get the results tomorrow. I just don't understand. I have always been so careful about his health, and he has always been such a healthy little man. He just suddenly stopped eating again. The vet says they are doing tests now they did not do last time. This sucks bad.

I'm sorry to hear that Milo is back in the hospital.

I wasn't a member of the forum when he went through his first round with the kidney infection, but I read through the posts on this thread and can see that you both have been through quite a lot.

I hope the vet will figure out what is happening and that he will be okay.

I'm so sorry to hear about poor little Milo :(. I know that we can be exemplary parronts, and STILL have things happen with them health wise. Stuff has happened to me too, and then it makes you think of parrots in less than ideal situations who stay healthy and it doesn't seem fair. Hang in there.

Milo is out of hospital and on medication for the next 3 months. But he is doing fine at the moment, eats like a horse again, Lol. Just very unhappy that he is not allowed any more nuts or cookies, Lol.

I'm so glad that Milo is out of the hospital! Does the vet think now that there is liver damage? I am praying he is going to be okay.

That is great news! Hope Milo retains sufficient liver function and the long course of treatment will be a cure.

He says they can not tell yet, after 3 months they can re-test to see if there has been an improvement from his last results. I must say I do feel very guilty, as it was my fault that I stupidly allowed too many nuts. I have been so careful about what he eats, no sunflower seeds for example, but never thought of the fat content in nuts. I gave him 1 almond, 1 cashew, 1 pecan every day with his veggies and a very good balanced pelet. So, beware of nuts!
