Just had a sudden new arrival - Species?

I got a (much) better photo of her (turns out she's fine with cameras!), so if anyone can confirm breed and gender it'd be much appreciated! I'm so in love with her colour!

I asked in a mutation and oddities group. Conensus says an opaline red rump male parakeet! :) (that's four people, btw!)

Would love to see a picture of him after he's had a good bath!

The flash does make the colour a bit brighter but yeah, I do think male.
Going to have to get used to calling him he now!

I'm going to give him a bath to try in a few days, hope he likes it! I'll post pictures after, and I'll have to show off my cockatiel too.

It is a male red rump. he looks like my male.

You see how it's bare around his eyes, you might want to take him to a vet and have him checked....he could possibly have either mites, or an upper respiratory infection.

I just went thru those exact symptoms with Puff, of my birds that I rescued.
on a positive note around your birds eyes are not red or swollen like Puffs was, but I would still recommend getting him checked with an avian vet.

When he's improved wait until you hear their call/song!.... it's gorgeous, it sounds like some of the sounds from star wars, lol.

Thanks for the other images, he's defiantly a boy! Good thing Barley works for both!

He's settled enough that he sings a lot, and shouts... I think one of his noises is imitating a fire alarm! My cockatiel has been in a grump since he came home but she actually spent some time near me today so I think she's starting to forgive me for the new noisy thing.
