Isn't that the februari-selection?

"Battered and bruised owners"

Desi, it's just so hard to choose an entry! He has so many charming attributes. This was my most recent reminder of his sweet personality.

JUST FOR "FUN" (if fun and bloodshed can be shoved into the same thought)!

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh jeez... you have the patience of a saint, Gail!!

Holey finger!!!!!! Ta-dah bit me yesterday and drew blood but Nothing like that! Ouch!!!! That's a perfect imperfect entry for sure!!! You are a better person than me to put up with that!!! I can't believe what a great bird person you are, and you never get cuddles??? I picked allopreener species on purpose , cuz I like cuddles. My sympathy for that bite!!!

Zeke was a special Quaker. Before we met him he got tangled in a happy hut while he was alone, his owners weren't sure how long he was trapped but when they found him he was close to death. We met Zeke while we were picking up another unwanted parrot from the same people. His owner shoved Zeke, in his cage exactly as it stood out onto the sidewalk, the couple's daughter was Zeke's former owner but the parents "got stuck" with him when she went to college.

Zeke was such a sweetheart, he even made friends with our female quaker, Harry. He was overweight and couldn't fly at first but a diet change improved his health, he found his wings and Harry insisted he chat with her in English. We had two very happy years with our sweet Quaker. He died suddenly one evening and a necropsy revealed the scar tissue from his hut accident was the cause, we also learned that our Zeke was much older than we'd been told. He was a great friend and family member. We miss him and treasure the memories.

Oh my Goodness Gail, he really got you ....Yikes
Heal quickly my friend

And of course, the Rb is the offended, aggrieved party, sulking in his cage.

Allee, thanks for sharing Zeke. Thank you for rescuing him. And for helping all the others. You're wonderful. Rescuers are wonderful.

Zeke sounds like a wonderful sweet soul. The last photo is my favorite. The smile is worth a million words.

Somehow the phrase "just for fun" doesn't seem to match the picture! Ouch!

Allee, thank you so much for sharing Zeke's story. I will be forever grateful that he ended up with you, and that his last 2 years were filled with so much love. He was such a beautiful boy, and I know he is missed by Harry as well.

And may I hijack the thread just a tiny bit to inquire after Harry, and how she's doing with the loss, please?

Oh yes, she deserves this place of honour-- in a short while you will not even see that scar anymore.

Awww Sunny! I'm so glad you acted quickly and got your beautiful girl the help she needed. Super sweet photos! Thank you for sharing Sunny's story here.

Gail, so sweet of you to ask about my bad girl, Harry. It's been about three years since our Zeke passed away, the first few months were awful for Harry but even now on rare occasions she calls out for her Zeke, it still breaks my heart for her.

How's your RB injury? And what did you do to make that sweet bird attack you so viscously? You know I'm kidding, that bite looks seriously painful, I'm sorry that happened.

I'm so glad that Sunny is doing well now! She is so beautiful, and definitely a brave girl. She looks adorable sleeping like that:)

My entry this month is Twitch, my stargazing linnie and little Squish, my new baby peach face lovebird with a curved spine and splayed leg, taking a nap in their hammock together.

Oh, little chicken... no more eggs! I'm so glad you saved her. Now she needs to be spoiled worse-than-rotten.

Twitch and Squish, there's cute and then there's CUTE-AND-CUTE! Precious.

Oh, Allee, is was just a bad day for the ol' Rb and I foolishly behaved as if it were business as usual. *CHOMP* I healed completely... it coincided with my short hospitalization for pneumonia, and subsequent bombardments of antibiotics and steroids worked a miracle.

I don't think it's possible for me to like this picture any more than I do! There is someone for everyone, and I am so glad that these two Sweethearts have each other. You are a hero for bringing them both into your family and giving them a second chance.

she is  she's very lively and eats like a pig, now we're learning how to parront better and safer :)

but she already is spoiled worse than rotten :p she's getting implants after she heals (or as soon as possible) to prevent this happening again... I've been reding through this forum and online a lot and looking back I see that we made many mistakes and what exactly we need to do better to have a happy and healthy fluff :orange:
