I've been asked to deliver a message to Jenphilly...

We can still throw your bed out, you could easily fit a few more cages in the room... you don't really need a bed, it's very European to sleep on the floor... we all know how much you loved your time in Europe...

HA the only time I slept on the floor in Europe was when I was in the desert... and well technically that was Africa...

I think you'll really enjoy having a zon or 2. I'm sure theres room to squeeze Paco in too (don't worry Riddick, we haven't forgotten and you're next ;)) That hanging gym is nice, and really isn't too bad of a price. I remember when Lucy would follow after me, she liked to fly up from behind and land on my shoulder. Though, she didn't always calculate her landing perfectly when I was moving/walking, so I would occasionally get whacked in the head with a wing or end up with a parrot on my head tangling her toes in my hair:11: It's a lot different to have a conure-sized bird land on you than it is a amazon lol. Kiwi was never taught to fly and seemed to have no inclination to try it when we let his flight feathers grow, so we've kept him clipped ever since so he can at least come run around outside (which he does love). If you put him on the floor, he will come running after you (not in a vicious way), but it's just second nature to grab him and take him room to room with us.

I'm glad to hear you have a "open home" for your birds. I'm personally very fond of the philosophy that there isn't a "right" size cage for a parrot- the "right" size is the thousands of acres of rainforest they belong in. The least we can do in a domestic environment is extend our home to them and allow them as much freedom as possible;)

Europe, Africa... whatever, you had fun... you can pretend its like being on Semester at Sea all over again, just with a bunch of birds :) I did see an article about the smallest apartment where the bed drops down from the ceiling... or remember the loft bed you had when you were a kid, couple cages would fit under that no problem, just have to not whack your head when you sit up...

I'll keep everyone posted on how things are progressing with Rosie.

Just get a bunk-bed, remove the bottom bunk, and replace it with cages! I had a bunk bed as a kid that would have been able to do that PERFECTLY haha.

That's how it is in my son's dorm room at college. He has a dresser and desk under the bunk. She could have cages! :)

Wendy -

Victoria in the military???? She would be discharged for insubordination before nightfall on the first day of basic training!! :)

She had the rough life last summer of doing a semeter at sea voyage aboard essentially a luxury cruise ship, tho its all for 'education'.... She took classes onboard... She has pictures online, not sure if she can put links here to share the albums. She spent some time in London before the ship left, then they went to Morrocco, two stops in Turkey, Isle of Crete, Athens Greece, Portugal, France, two stops in Spain, Malta, two stops in Italy... not in that order!

OOPS...I was just a tad off here.

So, am I understanding that Percy's campaign has been an absolute success and Jenphilly is getting an amazon like Percy?

Nice work, Perce!

Yay another amazon and what a stunner. He may surprise you, when we got Bosley from a rescue we never expected that he would turn into a cuddle bug.

Strudel.... Campaign is such a nice term for Percy's relentless attack :). I can onlywish Rosie will be aanything like all the zons that joined in the effort :)

Sandy.... I will take your wish and thought to heart, would be wonderful if Rosie became more affectionate, but with such a handsome face and great sense of humor, he will be a wonderful addition either way!!

I'm sure he will, amazons are so much fun. They are affectionate by nature when they bond. Best way to an amazons heart, like a man FOOD LOL
