I've been asked to deliver a message to Jenphilly...

Lol "she's lucky she's cute" haha you should hear the long list of animals my dearest husband wants to have once we're in the new house  I swear it's going to be like a petting zoo hahaha

HA!!! Sounds like my husband lol lets me do all the training and such and enjoys all the fruits of my labor

I just wonder what pooooooor Rosie is doing right now, not getting in on all this amazon fun, no family to feed him, no home to rule over.....

you really are evil aren't you!!!! Helping to gather a cyberbully gang of amazons, not enough, now we're going with guilt....

Least you didn't add in things like... What is Rosie doing right now while Ivory has dinner at the table with you.... her own plate, not poor Rosie...

Tho I did just say I was trading Ivory, she chewed a hole in the shoulder of a light cardigan I am wearing over a sweater dress today... joked I could trade her for Chyna and Rosie :)

So what's the next step in this Rosie campaign, should I be weary of dark paneled vans parked outside tomorrow?? Run if I see anyone carrying hoods?

My husband is only shaking his head... tho admit, he never says no to me or Victoria... how we ended up with 10 birds to begin with... tho he did pick out Ivory, but that's a whole another story. I can actually use that as good ammunition if he says no to Rosie... Ivory was supposed to be his bird and I got 'stuck' with her.... hmmmm.....

This is why mums the word on my current birdie crush;) I just hope the $1000 adoption fee means he'll be sticking around until later this year when we start looking to buy an actual house and I would feel comfortable going and meeting him. But no one needs to know who or what or where he is:54:

Oh my god! My jaw is on the floor, my heart melted into a puddle and I'm crying tears of joy!

Percy is sooo awesome!!!!!

Harley (see avatar) is asking when you're heading over to get Rosie.

If Percy can come home with me, I'll definitely take a zon!!! :) And I'm honored to be Aunty Jen :)

Those photos are beyond cute, did you have them just stashed on your computer or did Percy model for all of those??

Uhm....no, sorry, Percy is simply an advocate for zon adoptions, he's NOT a potential adoptee! :11: He's his mommy's dearest and she will never ever ever part with him :)

I had the pics on my phone already ;)

And hey, did anyone know Victoria was thinking about Paco, a blue fronted Amazon... why is no one bullying her!?? What am I the weakest link here or something.... DON'T ANSWER THAT...............

Reaaaally?? We will have to launch another attack ;)

It's not that I don't trust you, it's those naughty, adorable parrots who conspire against us humans that I don't trust:D

Oh my. Rosie sure is a very CALM and QUIET and HANDSOME boy who surely wouldn't cause any disturbance in anyone in particular's home:21:. He would just sit there and look pretty and colorful all day long:20:

He's like the perfect zon. I think he should come home with you immediately.....If not sooner :)

You better hurry before i beat you to him.

Those are such fun pics!

jenphilly, is Rosie home yet? when do you pick him up?
:):):)

ha, video didn't work - I took that video myself!!! You can hear Folger in the background :)

We are going over next week to photo and video new birds coming in, I'll talk to the shelter before then about adoption paperwork... you guys are all such pushy bullies, I should probably check my arms for bruising... :)

As for him being so quiet... he screams out hot bananas randomly and also says 'f*&$ing aye'... thankfully no children here, just hope he doesn't teach Ivory or Folger!!

Still have to figure out how to get him to fit into the pantry....

But, now that I've caved to peer pressure... question about cage size for Amazons. Is a 36 x 24 x 24 decent size? That is a tier on a 3 stacker Victoria has.... He would not stay in that permanently, just until we move. Here is a pic of Ivory in the cage (Tor took this for size comparison). Ivory is about 280g, so she's not a large bare eyed. Rosie is definitely heftier, but just does not seem nearly as active as Ivory or Folger.

Looks plenty big enough for me, for a temporary residence :). Especially if there will be a nice playgym on top... :54:

YAY! I am so excited for you and Rosie:) How are the bruises healing?
:):):)

Uh-oh, sounds like he's won you over with that amazon charm;) That cage should be fine, so long as he's not in it all the time (which I would certainly hope he wouldn't be). Amazons may not be cuddly birds, but they are really social and like being "near" their flock. Kiwi's cage is actually a little smaller than yours-http://dogcollaroutlet.com/products/fancy-victorian-top-open-top-bird-cage-black?gclid=CIjR76LCkr0CFcRi7AodsWsAIw but he's rarely locked in it except to sleep. He spends so much time on his play tree, and even more time on his t-perch or just plain "around" with us, we've never needed a monster cage for him. And while Kiwi definitely goes after his toys and dances, he's no where near as active as a cockatoo. He spends a lot of time just "hanging out". I know Kiwi really loves the open top on his cage too. I open it up in the morning, and leave it open all day (unless I'm running out) He likes to take his daily "bath" in his water dish:52: then goes up to the very top of the open cage to take his adorable afternoon nap:p If Rosie is (or will be flighted) I'd be most concerned about having a portable perch. Amazons will "follow" you if they can fly, and you will want a place you can always have near you where he can hang out and poop and not chew up the furniture. If he will be clipped, just bring him with you on the perch. Just because he can't come flying after you doesn't mean he won't still want to be right there:D

Rosie would have the same routine as Ivory... the cage is where he will sleep :) Ivory literally is out of the cage if someone (anyone) is home, Rosie would have that same routine. I made the outside of Ivory's cage a play gym because she had such a hatred of the cage when she first came to us, so started with making the outside fun and it just happens to still work for her and us. We have one of the large rolling pvc stands (which I don't like) and hubby is making a custom wood stand for Folger, so we may need to either build two stands and put the pvc up in the loft for use after we move if needed; or I saw an awesome hanging play gym that I thought of early on for Ivory... here is a link... Hanging Parrot Gym Play Tree Swing Toy Cage African Grey Amazon Eclectus Ect | eBay

We are in a condo right now, so not much problem with the birds following me or being too far :) I am a big believer of birds having their wings unless there is a safety issue (like Folger trying to eat me or Dante being an idiot flyer).

My bruises look pretty mild... not like it took too much arm twistings, always expected he would come home at some point, just figured it would be when we had more room... But hey what's one more...

Guess poor Paco won't be able to come live with us now since my empty cage has already been taken.... poor poor Paco...
