Is this perch safe?

I'm hoping to give this perch to my conures but I noticed a green patch after I left the pet store.

Not yet since I don't have any sand paper at home.

It could be a stain. I'd scrub at it under hot water with some dish soap. That should wash away anything dangerous. Otherwise, it looks safe to me
