hi guys i hate to be a worry wort but i feel better safe then sorry....ladyhawk has started doing something none ot the other kinds of birds iv had in the past has ever done...every now and then she puts her mouth on the bars of her cage... dosnt look like shes trying to chew on it...but shes not using her beak to help her mover around the cage eigher which i know birds do... she just sort of sits on her ladder and holds the bar for a few seconds....which is fine it is after all her house just want to make sure its not a sign of something wrong....

It probably feels good in her mouth. Birds like the way cold metal feels. Mine like to lick cold soda cans and other cold metal things. No worries.

My conure does that. If i talk to him through the cage, he’ll softly bite onto the bars just as you described.

My CAG does this. But she's trained me to give her a treat because she's so alone, locked up and pitiful. In other words spoiled.

lol thanks i figured it was something like that...it just seemed odd as it s the first time iv seen a bird do it...iv been watching her and could tell she wasnt hurting herself so wasnt to concerned about that...but if there was an underlying reason for it i felt i should know i believe its better to ask a sort of stupid question now then to not and be sorry later

never thought about that...when i was younger my teeth wore so bad wanting anything cold was totaly out of the question lol heak i still think twice before getting anything cold when my son was young and first on his own his father visited him in his first apartement and he had all his soda sitting on the counter and none in the fridge when the ex asked him why he hadnt put it away he said i like it warm like mom does....his father told him your mother didnt LIKE i t warm it was just the only way she could drink it!!! lol next time he visited me he looked in the fridge and yup the soda was in there lol after that he started putting his soda in the fridge lol it can be surprising some times what kids learn from us that we dont really notice....if i have given them there drinks warm i might have noticed but there stuff was in the fridge to get cold....
