Hey guys!

I was wondering if this is okay, I know the size is as it is HUGE! But is the spacing alright and everything?

Yes, that cage would be plenty big for an eclectus and then some. The 1" inch bar spacing is fine.

BUT, if I were you and spending that much money on a cage, I would opt for a playtop cage such as this one. Eclectus spends hours on top of his cage at times and the playtop section for his cage was thrown away by the previous owners, so the top of his cage is just flat. Mac's cage is the same as the one in the link except without the playtop. I won't buy a cage without a playtop.

I good, I don't think I'm getting that exact cage but the size yes :) and hmm a play top, the only thing with that is,I've heard many people say that their female eclectus is cage possessive and that a play top can fuel that. Not sure? Thanks for the suggestion though! :)

Mine has 1 inch bar spacing and its pretty much the perfect size :)
Ours has got a play top, but as the cage stands as tall as us to begin with, once you open it up its way too tall to actually reach him and he started refusing to come down, so we haven't opened it in agesss (especially as hes flightless now anyway and i dont want him too high up).
But he did LOVE being up there ;D

Our cage is a sort of wavy dome-top shape, and i kind-of wish i had gotten one with a flat top now. It would be so much more versatile to put things on and hang things from, as well as being easier for him to climb and stand on... but thats just me :)

Oh awesome, yeahi don't think I'm getting a play top as my parrot will be semi outside (under a veranda that is closed off from other wild animals and the heat) so when he is out, it will usually be inside on his big perch or with me :)

And yeah! I just cant seem to find a good sized cage that isn't a dome or without a play top!!so frustrating! :p

you don't have to attach the playtop. That ia what happened with Mac's cage, they didn't attach the playtop and eventually threw it away.

Our cage is over 5 foot tall with the play top. My girl LOVES the play top but she comes right down when asked to. I wouldnt have a cage for my Ekkie without a play top as she spends alot of time on it. Right now she is carrying her wiffle balls up to play top and throwing them down to watch me fetch them for her. Its a little game we play. I will post a picture in a few minutes.

Wow that's an awesome cage :) She is gorgeous!

Thanks Birdlover47, Ruby has only been in this cage for a week. Her old cage had 3/8 bar spacing and she would get her feet stuck in it. I searched for weeks for an affordable safe cage for her on craigslist and hoobly, as Hubby is unemployed ,and lucked up and got this one brand new for free from a breeder. The breeder was a nightmare, but had way too many cages and her hubby was making her clear them out of his barn, and I posted here about that experience. I sanitized the cage several times over several days and let it air out in the sunshine before giving it to Ruby. She just loves the new cage !!!
