Hey everyone!

I'm going to a bird rescue in a few weeks and I'm going to be deciding on which bird I want to adopt. Based on the website there's two birds that I'm interested in- a male GCC and a female Meyers. I was wondering if this cage looks like it would be sutible for either of these birds. If not please leave some links to good cages. I'd prefer the cage to be under $400 if possible. Happy holidays!

24" X 22" Parrot Cage with Play Top and Toy Hanger

It's hard to tell, but the bars might be a little on the thin side, which for the species you mentioned should be fine. Other than that, it looks like a nice set up. The toy hanger on the top play stand will be very nice too (a lot of top stands have the perch and bowls, but no toy holder).

The bar spacing is a little wide for a GCC. 1/2 inch is safer to ensure no danger of getting his head stuck in the bars. The length and width are a fair size, but the cage is more of a taller type. I have found our birds do best in more rectangular cages so they have more horizontal cage space vs vertical.

Here is a link to a cage that I have (by HQ) and I absolutely LOVE it! I have a stainless steel cage for our GCC, but for a high quality, more affordable option, these are wonderful cages! I have several HQ cages for our other birds. Very high quality and strong structure. They don't have seed skirts, but you can always put plexiglass trim along the bottom if needed. Enjoy your new bird! :)
