Green Cheeked Conure: Kiwi

Pacific Green Rumped Parrotlet: Peeps
Hey guys, i'm going to be getting a Green Cheeked Conure and i've been looking into getting this cage Bird Aviaries & Flight Cages: Economical Clean Life Flight Cages

Is this a good cage??? I mean is there enough room? (the measurements are below the picture)

Also this cage is on a 30$ sale so i'd definetaly be saving, I really trust drsfostersmith.com i've bought from them a number of times and i'm always pleased.

I don't like the idea all the food/water cups are on the bottom of the cage, I see a contamination problem right off the bat there, its just my experience that anything that says "economy" translates to cheaply made, without seeing in person its really difficult to say.......

I could get food holders and put them up higher................

Also could you name a couple of things that could happen if it was a cheap cage? I don't think it will just fall apart. :p

My parrotlet's cage is actually the same setup. Fortunetaly his water dosn't get pooped in but he does get food in it. I scrub it daily.

I hope I can still get this cage, if I can't this will ruin everything....

What's the advantage of putting the cups higher other than them not getting dirty? See I was thinking of getting Croc-pots but they're 10$ each :)eek:) They're really really good though.

Our birds like to be high up in their cage. Usually the feeding cage area is about half way up to the top. Believe it our not petco has the best prices on cages. Remember you will have to put it together also. Here is a link. Avain adverture cages are fantastic!! No delivery charges, easily assembled and quality. You can also find some nice used cages on Craigs list sometimes.

You lucky girl !!!!!!! :D
I would still not chance it though, it's not hygienic
Just to add another level of quotes!

Whether the cage would be appropriate really depends on how much he'll be in it. Those dimensions seem small: only one foot deep.

Note the cage in the picture is not the cage you'd be getting, the picture is of the larger model.

Yeah I guess by my name "mrs py" "Mr spy"

The "Mr spy" is actually the one i'm doing. But I use that user name for just about every forum i'm on(some I rarely get on) And if I put a dot after Mr i'd forget and then forget my username lol.

Yeah I don't know about all of you but I love to see a bird in a big cage where it gives them wing room. It just makes me feel awesome to provide them with a nice home and not some stuffy one

When we had our dove(poor guy died in 2007)we did the funniest thing for his cage. Instead someone gave us a "rabbit" cage, or so they thought, but it turned out to be a ferret cage. So we gave Majesty(the dove) the ferret cage and he LOVED it!! We decorated it with fake vines and flowers and we even went into our woods and got a forked branch and in the middle of the fork we put a huge water dish that he would take baths in and such. But yeah that's why I love giving them huge cages. Majesty was so happy in there and such a clown that it just turns their mood.

Plus about the time he died my dad had him put in a very small parakeet cage(majesty was about as big as a nanday conure)and he could barely turn around! We felt so sorry for him because he lost his jolly mood so we got him a bigger cage and he at least was able to move around in. :)

Ohhhhhhhhh!!!!!! You mean everyone her thought I meant the small cage before?

I agree with the others on the bowls I could be wrong but it looks like it does not have horizontal bars that go across just up and down which in my opinion is better to have the horizontal bars going across so the bird can climb and give them a more excise

I was able to get a larger look at the picture and actually it does have horizontal bars going accross. But thanks for the observation. :)
