Have a Pied Cockatiel & 10 Budgies
Hi, I stumbled on this site when using a search engine. I live in Adelaide South Australia, I'm a disabled lady & am wheelchair reliant. I don't have any family support, in fact I only have 2 family member s that I occasionally see.The rest of my family walked away when my disabilities got too bad, they said they could not cope. This does not stop me or worry me.☺ I have a few hobbies,& a few beautiful pets, I have a 19yr old abyssinian mix cat who gets along really well with all my birds. I'm I have 10 Budgies (or parakeets as they are cal, ed in some countries, although I am not sure why) & an extremely cheeky but loving cockatiel named Monty Moo, I like paper crafts, photography & make most of my birds toys. I have a wierd & wicked sense of humour.I do get cross when I see or hear about animals being abused . hopefully I will be able to make some new friends here, & share tips & get advice when needed.

I will post some photos soon,
Thanks for having me here:)

Welcome to the forums, thanks for joining! I think you'll like it here, and plenty of members live in Australia!

How ironic you are able to cope with your challenges but your family cannot! Really sad, but that is their loss.

Your 19 year old Abyssinian must have a great story and genetics. Please don't view this as judgmental, but many of us know of incidents where birds and cats have come to tragedy.

Looking forward to the photos!!

Hello there and a warm welcome to you and yours. Lovely introduction, I'm looking forward to seeing your photography and sharing toy ideas, I think you'll find lots of likeminded friendly people here.

I'm sorry you don't have the family support you need. It's a sad truth when people who should be there for you are more concerned with how the situation effects them. You sound like a strong lady. Enjoy the forums.

Hello and welcome to you and your flock! I'm so happy you joined us and I look forward to hearing more about them:)

I like you already!
I'm so, so, so glad you found us.
There are many of us in very challenging situations who find cheer and fellowship here!
Welcome, new friend!

Hi Montysmom and welcome!!
You and I are in similar situations. Partially handicapped I can no longer work so I'm home all day long. My hubby works from home everyday so he's always here but during the work day it's just me & my animal friends. I have 2 Shih Tzus, a Sun Conure and a U2 who's not weaned yet and still lives with the breeder.
I hope you'll find friendship here! Everyone's been so nice to me!
Hope to see your pics soon!
Peg
