WOW, he's not only beautiful, he's also so sweet natured! That's truly amazing considering he's only been there for one day. I'd say you definitely picked the right GW :D. Just imagine how he'll be once he's entirely settled in and used to his new world!! You have an outstanding new companion there, Wendy :). How are Niko and your other fids doing with the development?

Best of luck with your court thing :(.

I paid EXTRA close attention to the questionaire I had to fill out at the end of the day ;) I'd be REALLY surprised that once we go over that (IF I'm chosen as one of the 14 tomorrow), if they'd give me a second look. ;)

Both Hunter and Sam act as if Ripley has always been here. Niko is a little stand-offish, but not mean. :) I gave him EXTRA attention this evening, snuggling and cuddling for over 45 minutes, one on one time, as Ripley watched intensely. :D

Oh my goodness.... My cheeks hurt from smiling so hard! :D:D:D OMG It was MEANT TO BE!!!! :D

Excuse me, I have to go massage my face out of its frozen smile. ;)

Oh :11:! In that case...Way to go, Wendy! I'm proud of you :D

Sounds like all is relatively well in the attitude department then :). It will be interesting to see how Ripley and Niko get along down the line.

OH gosh I am droooooooling over Ripley!! :) What a handsome bird!!!! So beautiful!!!! Congrats Wendy, I saw his photo on facebook when I had just woken and didn't put two and two together lol!! LOVE HIM! :)

.

I'm done! I'm home. I have been dismissed. :D I was actually called in as Juror #7. We went through the questionair we all filled out this morning, and 2 jurors were dismissed right away. After lunch, when the defense attorney was able to dismiss a juror, I was the first one he canned, LMAO.

I can FINALLY spend some good quality time with Ripley and ENJOY him to my hearts content. :)

I want to thank each and every one of you for your sweet, caring, thoughtful and cheerful remarks, I really, truly do! :) I feel a wee bit overwhelmed at the moment. NOT with Ripley, he and I are doing GREAT! Good thing I have 2 Java Trees. I had Ripley out (next to Niko) for well over an hour this afternoon, and turned on some of my favorite music.

Yup, Ripley fits RIGHT in...he LOVES to party. :) He became quite vocal when Niko and I were singing and dancing. ;)

I returned Niko to his tree, and picked up Ripley. Of course I didn't sway him around wildly like I do with Niko, but we danced and sang. I "think" he enjoyed it...I still have my lips. :D

Oh, and the Amazons were going bonkers with the music on - of course. :54:

Please, if I didn't thank any of you individually, PLEASE don't take it personally. The past 3 days have been really overwhelming for me. I'm sure I will return to "normal" soon enough.

I just read your story on the Macaw story thread. I am so happy that you brought Ripley home. My heart went out to him since he was there for so long and was such a friendly bird. Last time I was there he was on a tree in the main room by the register. I'm surprised they put him back in a cage. I had spent a little time "volunteering" before the holidays with the two other greenwings, the poor things are cage bound and terrified to come out. I know the girls don't have time to spend socializing them so I am going to try to get back. Hopefully they will be able to find homes half as good as Ripley did!!

On another note, Rosie is AWESOME. She is actually sitting on my shoulder chatting as I type. She is getting bigger and her eyes are turning gold, so I guess she is starting to grow up. She wants me all to herself, she is not very good at sharing. ;) She has even waddled over and wiggled in between me and my dog when I was hugging him. Funny girl!!

Congrats again, he is a dream!! So happy for you!

I saw the other 2 GWs. A boy and a girl, I believe they are a 2010 hatch???? I did try and take them out, but I'm pretty sure that wouldn't have had a happy ending (for me). ;)

I've seen Ripley SO many times. I've actually made it a point and visited at least every other week, just to get my GW fix, lol. James (the bald guy who works at BP) was a complete and utter mess, in TEARS when I took Ripley home. It kind of broke my heart, but I promised to keep them updated on him.

I'm so so happy to hear how much Rosie's grown, and what a love she is!!!

Perhaps next time I'll take a trip to Burlington, I'll let you know beforehand, and we could meet up again. :D

No, I've spent some time with them...they are good to get scratches while in their cages but are afraid to get to come out. Poor babies. From what i was told they were put in the cages bc they were eating all the molding in the room and just being mischievous. Have become cage bound since. None of the staff can handle them either. :(

It's so nice to hear that Ripley was loved while at his BP home!! Rosie adored Eddie, one of the guys who cleans and hand feeds. I always make sure to seek him out when I go.

Would love to meet you, so be sure to let me know. It's only about 25 min for me.

Congrats on getting your GW!! :) He is so handsome and I love the name! Seriously! You must be a long time Aliens fan like me. :D

After reading your story on the macaw thread and then here it sounds like it was meant to be. All along you were preparing to bring Ripley home, you just didn't know it yet. Ripley has such a heart warming story, thank you for sharing him with us. :D
