WOW!!! Wendy.. Either I missed something here , or you kept this very quiet!!

He is absolutely adorable:) Congrats.

You didn't really miss anything, Wendy, this happened with lightning speed. Went to the store on Monday to get my GW fix, you know, just hoping they had some for me to look at and possibly play with. Ripley's been there all this time. I've talked to him and admired him too many times to count. On the way out my GF asked if he was cheaper than their list price, since he was "older". Yes, he was. AND a cage was included. My brain went into overdrive - literally. I put a deposit on him that afternoon, and was hoping to pick him up this coming weekend, as I was scheduled for Jury Duty yesterday. Then I learned the night before last that my number was not needed in court. So I was able to pick him up yesterday. :D (But now I have Jury Duty today. :(....)

And THANK YOU!!!!

Hey, are you sure you didn't steal Salsa?? Uhm, nope! I just looked over and he's here, safe and sound :D. I think Ripley kind of resembles Salsa, though. He's clearly a 'husky' bird like Sals ;). And his upper beak pattern looks similar to Sals's.

That is SO COOL, Wendy. I'm immensely happy for you..as well as for Ripley :D. He's absolutely beautiful!!! And he looks happy in the photos, too. This is just too great for words :D:D:D:red1:

Wendy and Ripley, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

AAAWWW...that made my SO happy, Plax! You know how MUCH I love that Salsa!!! But I don't think Ripley is quite THAT big (yet). He weighed 1298g yesterday. :) I'm sure he'll put on a good amount of muscle once he's all settled in and gets regular "workout time". ;)

You must be so happy Wendy... I know how many times you have been to see Ripley in the shop and how much you wanted him:)

It seems like it was meant to be :) A free Cage as well? That is brilliant:)

He is absoulutely beautiful and I am sure for the next few days you will just be sitting there looking at him and pinching yourself to make sure this is not a dream :)

I am really pleased for you.

Congratulations, Ripley is so handsome! I dearly love our male GW, Ody, he is a loving awesome macaw. Can't wait to hear your stories, Wendy.

Congrats!! Ripely is gorgeous!! Did you get him from bird paradise? I know they recently moved one of the GWs to the main room and I was hoping he would find a home. Either way, congrats! When I met you at Dr Doolans with Rosie I remember how much you loved GWs! ☺

I'm smiling like an idiot I just love reading this thread!! :D

Grats on bringing Ripley home! He's gorgeous!!!! And hopefully, he fits well into your already lovely flock!!!

Yes, I bet he will. As you know, Salsa gained almost 200g since arriving here. I must say that Ripley looks absolutely spectacular in your pics!

PS: I hope you've managed to handle the jury duty thing somehow

Wendy!!! A Big Congrats on Ripley!!!! He is gorgeous!!!

I love how he looks so serene & peaceful, like he's always been with you since he was a baby. He was waiting for you to come along.

I don't have much time to really read all the posts or comment like I'd like. I have to put up a couple of birds & head off to work. I wanted to come over yesterday & see if you had pics up & my internet was being a jerk.

Soooo glad he is so sweet & I love that face!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THAT I didn't. :( I have to be back tomorrow morning, 9AM sharp. I could SCREAM about it....but can't really talk about it.

So much for trying to sound like a German who has a cough and the stomach flu. That didn't do the trick.

So, I was gone ALL day, but when I realized I had a 50 minute lunch break I FLEW home (It's a 20 minute ride with no traffic). Let the dogs out, removed the birds' soft foods...and drove back. I finally got home around 5PM, YEARNING for the birds, but of course especially for Ripley.

I honestly didn't think I'd find the time tonight to update, but you all have to see this to believe it. :D

Please DO excuse my appearance. I took my face and "good" clothes off as soon as I got home....

I was also able to bury my entire face into Ripley's neck...AND I scratched his head and neck. I was SO touched, I started crying like a baby.....SO many emotions...it is FINALLY sinking in. :D

KENDRA!!!!! It is SO good to finally see you here. :D I'm ALL smiles now...from ear to ear! How is your Rosie???????? She must be ALL big and "almost" grown up now. She is SUCH a beautiful girl!!!! I could NOT keep my hands off of her at NorthStar ;)
Yes, I got Ripley from Bird Paradise, and yes, it is a dream come true. NOTHING compares. :D

I'm really sorry to hear that :(. WharfRat and I pointed you toward the tried & true method to get out of it. But that's all I'm gonna say on the matter ;).

WOW, he's not only beautiful, he's also so sweet natured! That's truly amazing considering he's only been there for one day. I'd say you definitely picked the right GW :D. Just imagine how he'll be once he's entirely settled in and used to his new world!! You have an outstanding new companion there, Wendy :). How are Niko and your other fids doing with the development?

Best of luck with your court thing :(.
