Hi. I have attached a photo of my IRN. Neck seems to be forming an orange ring. Is that normal? That colour?
Thank youu!
Thank you! He’s very cute but very scared we’ve had him for months & monthsLooks normal to me. IRNs are alternatively named the "rose-ringed parakeet", and the ring is generally orangey/pink and black in adult males, and the ring will intensify as your bird moults into adult plumage. Adult females can sometimes show a very subtle "shadow" of a ring too, though it's less common to do so. Your baby is beautiful by the way, what's his (or her) name?
You're most welcome! Indian ringnecks are lovely birds, I had one myself many years ago and he was a sweetheart. We have a pretty active IRN community here, you may find some helpful taming tips/tricks on our IRN sub-forum which i will link for you below ....Thank you! He’s very cute but very scared we’ve had him for months & monthswe are turkish household & call him Fis-fis short for fıstık
