- pr proven greenwing macaws..
pair of senegal parrots on chicks...
pr lutino ringnecks..
pr maroon bellied conures...cockatiels, budgies..lovebirds..quails..pr barn owls...chickens..ducks..turkeys..
Hello....
I have a pr of greenwing macaws that have been together for many years and are bonded, both are original imports from approx 8/9 years ago that have lived in an outside aviary since.
recently one became ill very quickly and as a result both were brought indoors, only brought both in as I figured splitting them may cause the poorly bird more distress.
since bringing them in my macaw has made a full recovery, but the weather has gone very cold outside and for the last 6 weeks these 2 have enjoyed the warmth inside..
now they have a very large cage but I believe bigger would be better.
niether of my macaws are tame but they are settled and dont mind people being near them, one of them will take food from your fingers.
I also have a pr of marron bellied conures and a pr of senegal parrots living in my living room.
My question is....
Do you think I would be safe to allow my macaws out of the cage for some daily exercise, and if yes would they go back in...
also if yes, if they decided to take root on top of one of my other cages, would they kill the occupants if they were to investigate each other...
hope someone could advise as the macaws wont be going back out till next spring and I hate seeing them stuck in a cage
