Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(

And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
..with Beebs :D..Last night when giving him and The Green Dino dinner, besides BB's usual fruity pellets and special blend cockatiel seed, with a 2.5 inch of millet sprig, I also gave him a tea spoon of corn nibs,a little "Cajun" cole slaw,a few sweet peas and a good sized piece of crumbled up birdie muffin, then came in here to do some 'puter work.

First,(as usual) I hear him beak banging on the inside of his tidy bowl feeder for a few moments, then it was quiet. Then I hear his little yummy chirps (what he does when he enjoys whatever he is noshing on :D) So I quietly sneak out of this room to stick my head around the corner into the living room to see what he is up to.

There he was, sitting on the perch that is part of the tidy bowl, and he is clearly noshing on pieces of muffins while making his "yummy chirps"! I watched him for about five minutes. Every time he had a piece of muffin,he'd raise his head, and let out several "chirp chirp chirp" as his beaky and tongue were going as fast as he could make them, like he hadn't eaten in days lol.

So,that is proof positive to me at least, that he really likes his muffins and it wasn't a total waste of time and effort making them for my kids :D

That is too cute! When he's like that does he put his crest up or down? Cockatiel crests are an enigma to me lol.

Desi, When BB is usually excited (or leary) his "hat" is usually extended, sky high..That also goes for when he is noshing on good/favorite things :p

Yum...the muffs are generally easy to make, just time consuming. When I'm done mixing/baking, I usually end up with approx. thirty. I've even sampled a piece or two  and if they didn't contain ground up pellets and seed..they were tasty to me! I figure the honey that is added helps lol.

do you happen to have a recipe written up?

A little butter or cream cheese, and *I'd* eat a few, I bet!

I don't know what pellet you are using but Roudybush tastes pretty darn good. I haven't tried Harrisons yet but I'd bet they are better.

Of course I've never been a picky eater:D
