Ok folks I need some inspiration! My husband has said I get one freebie; one thing that he would usually say no to or complain about purchasing. I don't want to waste this! Whatever it is will be for the birdies, but I have recently crossed a BUNCH of things off my birdy wish list, soooo... Suggestions? What would it be for you? New cages and stands are out, and I don't think now is a good time to add any pets (no matter how much I want a tank of sea horses!). I already got my incubator and restocked my supplements and medicines for the season, so I'm a bit at a loss.

What's the budget?

Well, the budget is probably around $1500, but that doesn't mean I need to use it all.

Outdoor aviary space, unless you already have it. I'm trying to convince my husband to agree to screen in the deck for Dexter. It's not going well.

Same here - one hell of a play stand/area. 2/3 of the budget for the stand(s) and 1/2 to stock it with toys aplenty.

I wish my Birdroom was side by side Windows all the way around .It has the normal amount now but more would be nice.Maybe a running waterfall bloodbath in the middle :)

Yeah, agree on the outdoor space. That's the one thing that I have used the most and my birds have benefitted from the most. I have mine on a covered back porch. When someone is having a screaming meltdown, going outside is a reset for him, and by the time he comes in, he's quiet as a mouse. Tired, happy birds are priceless.

The other thing I'd do with a $1,500 windfall/freebee is put aside for a future vet bill. Having that peace of mind is pretty great, too.

Report back what you do with the funds. Can't wait to hear. Lucky you!

Yes I go with the previous suggestions - Java Tree, Outdoor Aviary and vet money. Sound all good to me - don't forget to let us know what you choose. Good luck.

Yup! Java tree all the way:)

Lol I only wish we had the space! Our whole home is only 600 sq ft and on the 6th floor, so any additional stands are out of the question. A good 1/4 of our living room is already covered in a big tree :). Outdoor space I would KILL for; we have agreed that our next home (will be in Georgia) will have enough space for a minimum 3 aviaries :) one for the ringnecks, one for the green cheeks, and one for the other birds I cycle through :) I have a feeling Tucson will get to spend more than his fair share of time out there!

As for vet bills, our vet fund is fully stocked.

I'm debating between...
"Cooler brooder" with car adaptor
Celti Pak-o-bird
Invantory from Avian Fashions and Parrot University (I'm working on becoming a retailer)
Full spectrum lighting set up
Full set up of the good avian water bottles (I would need like 20)
A Bose Bluetooth speaker lol

Those 3 would be cool .

That's an awesome gift from your hubby! I personally LOVE my Pak-O-Bird. Honestly the best investment I've ever made for me and my birds. It's so easy to take them to the vet and they can be incorporated in a lot of the outdoor activities I do without having to worry about people, predators, or them flying away.

Good luck deciding! [emoji16]

Fun thread Dani :). I like all the ideas people have given so far.

Like many have already mentioned, the first thing that popped into my head was a nice beautiful large Java tree. Although "large" wouldn't do me any good personally since they don't all get along lol.

With that budget you can get several items. The full spectrum lighting idea is nice too, of course as long as it's easy to take down and with you when it's time to leave and move.

Since you're limited to floor space, I suggest building a nice wall climbing setup with the nice parrot rope nets. You can put toys in front and behind and give them tons of stuff to forage through and play.

Close I am right on the coast. But what they call Innerbanks. Its not OBX Its IBX LOL Love it here. I work close to Greenville. Great Area
