Finally made it home around 6:30 ish. Poor girl couldn't wait to get out. At first she held on to the sides, but she was happy to get out and stretch! Poor girl has a warm beak, feet and cheeks (pink cheeks and nostrils as well). I'm not sure if that is solely due to her stress from the day or if she could have gotten an infection. She's been so good! She hasn't eaten or drunk much, but I'm sure she'll get there. I was able to put her in the sink and hose her down a little since she had poop all over her tail. She's sitting on my lap I as write this info She's been doing a few things that I'm not used to with Coco (our Ekkie)... She was moving her head up and down for a few minutes then jerking her head up and down looking up while her beak was all crooked. Almost looked like she had a scratch or something. Well we are off to the vets tomorrow morning to make sure our girl is nice and healthy. We love her already so much! I can't believe she's finally here! Poor baby is so tired. We need to move her cage since the room she was supposed to stay in is too cool due to the cooler weather today! She's falling asleep on my lap...awwww. What an awesome girl and we've only had her a few hours. Well I will have more pictures for you tomorrow, but I better get to moving her cage cuz it's gonna take some strength and a little time to do that
Here now! They are suggesting quarantine for 6 months!!! I don't think that will be possible. Having her grahamstain and bloodwork done everything looks great so far. Fingers crossed test come back good . She is 850 grams! Coco was 275 at his first apt!!! Haha
Aww, congratulations! And good job getting her to the vet for a check right away! Instead of trying to quarantine for six months, I would just be very careful about hand-washing, and no toy-hsaring without them getting disinfected, just to be sure!
