I need help with my new baby galah

I purchased a baby galah yesterday after waiting so long to get one I'm really happy but I am a bit worried as he is really lethargic and a bit slow. I would of thought he would be quite energetic at this age and am just wondering if this is normal...
Any info would be great thanks guys.

Was this baby galah shipped to you? If so, he may have been sedated for the flight.

Another possibility is that the transition was overwhelming for him and his hyper-alert state eventually exhausted him.

All that said, however, it could indeed be a sign of sickness. Even if he were showing no symptoms whatsoever, taking him in to be seen by a certified avian vet would be a prudent initial move to make. If there is something wrong, an avian vet could catch it early and provide a diagnosis. But if it turns out he is just fine, a veterinary visit could establish a very important baseline for your parrot when healthy. This info could prove vital in the future.

Is your baby weaned, yet? Or is he still on hand feedings?

I picked him up locally. I was told he was not long out of the nest and eating seed. I took him to my local vet but they admiringly said they didn't know a great deal about birds but said he seemed fine , good balance, reflexes ect. Maybe I need to find an avian vet to take him to.

Welcome to the forums, thanks for posting your concerns!

I would strongly advocate taking your baby to an avian-certified vet as soon as possible. Have you had previous parrots, and did the breeder share nutrition information beyond feeding seeds? (just trying to gage your level of experience!)

As stated by Scott take it to an avian-certified vet.

Also it is quite common for birds to get stressed out with moves so that might be causing this behavior.
