As many of you know, I have been looking everywhere to find a nice albino budgie, after about 3 months of speaking with other breeders, posting ads all over every internet classified site and even having one bought out from under me about a week ago, I finally found her! ...well, I didn't find her, but I got her!

Yesterday, a friend of mine posted a picture on her facebook of a a gorgeous little albino that was at the local petco(I know, I know, really didn't want to get a bird from petco but I was getting desperate...). She didn't even know I was looking for one, she just thought she was pretty and wanted to share. I immediately texted my other half who was leaving work and he went straight to petco and snatched her up! I'm not 100% sure that she is in fact a hen but it's looking that way. Either way, she isn't nearly old enough to breed so she is caged by herself at the moment for training anyway.
I'm guessing she's only about 3-5 months old, you can tell that she hasn't been handled much, if at all, but she doesn't bite at all and is pretty okay with being held. We've been taking it slow, I'll get her out for only a couple minutes, then put her back and talk to her a bit. She's not afraid of us at all, just not used to the interaction. But, without further ado, here she is!

AND..... he saw this little greeny and wanted her for himself!

We've named the green one kiwi, still working on a name for the albino, and I think she is even a bit younger than the albino. This is a bad picture but you can see that all she wants to do is cuddle under your hand ;)

I would say approx 4 months old. They're so cute!!! My partner wants a green one bad!

Congrats on the new babies! Their adorable!

My guess is a hen, they're gorgeous and congrats on finally getting your albino!

Wow , they are both really cute Icy ! Good luck with them :)

Yay! Good for you. I love albinos. I just lost an albino cockatiel. His name was Angel, because being so white, and when he raised his wings, he looked like an angel. I love their red eyes!

Thank you everyone!

I'm realizing the flaw in putting an albino bird in a white cage that's against a white wall. Everytime I go to check on her it takes me a minute to find her :52:

Haha! I had that trouble too, it's a pain isn't it! Then I once had the cage in the corner of my room where the grey wall met the green wall which met the white ceiling and the wall near all that was also blue.

Albino bird, blue+whites, green+yellows, and grey. Was a nightmare trying to find them in my room when they perched somewhere :p

How are they settling in? :)

That's too funny, chameleon budgies!

They are settling in pretty well, still acting a bit reserved but the albino starts chirping when I go in and talk to her so that's a good sign. I feel kind of bad that they are caged alone and I thought about putting them together but since we have at least 6 months before they are ready to breed I thought I'd use this time to get them used to being handled.

I have that trouble a bit with Merlin as well. She's in a silver cage against a silver radiator. I have to look for the red tail or bald face, lol!

What pretty babies!!! You must be so excited!

I love albinos, I don't know why. And it doesn't stop with birds, I like albino snakes, dogs, cats, lizards etc.
Congrats on your new babies.

cdog, we've got something in common there leaving out the snake part...lol....You guys do know one of my babies that I raised is a Lutino Whiteface (Albino) right? We're keeping him, especially after the incident when he poke his mouth on the syringe during feeding. I baby him for over a week in the brooder and careful feeding and now he's weaned and eating on his own. :)

Aw that's sad, but I'm glad to hear he is all better.
