Sean Steven and myself made a poem up about "hands" a year after the ice skating accident. It occurred on a public holiday Heritage Day

We have to laugh about these things or we'll cry. I'm glad we're able to laugh now. :bunny7:

I'm soo sorry about your hand!! That must be painful. I resemble Aussie Bindi Irwin, especially if I have my hair up in piggy tails. LOL, a little kid came up to me and ask if I was Steve Irwin's daughter.

Wow that sure is a compliment

Oh Antoinette!
I really feel low right now and hearing what you went through and how you have fought to make the best of a devastating injury puts my much more minor trouble in perspective.
Barbara
Why are you feeling low, I don't understand

One of life's blows, and had to deal with.

My sons were 10 and 11 1/2 years old when it happened. They were so traumatized, especially seeing me injured and sitting in my own blood. Sean and Steven were the only 2 people who assisted, everyone else ran away. They had to see a physiologist. They were my pillars of strength, helped me with every single thing and the running of the business.
That's my guys

Did you play ice hockey?

LoL only saw this post now "bird brain" haha

I played ice hockey when I was in my 20's. I had skated for well over 15 years.
This ice skating accident happened when I was 40 years old. We went skating over weekends My guys loved it, we had such great fun. We watched ice hockey matches, and speed skating. My guys were going to join a hockey team shortly.
I was always too afraid even to speed skate on general sessions, for the fear of injuring myself.

Needles to say, my guys never played ice hockey. They have been skating a few times, about 4 years ago. I can't stop them, it was a freak accident, accident do happen.

I am glad that your spirit is high, that is all that matters at the end.;)

I've broken a few things but no permanent damage.

People call me a lizard, not because of how I look but because I only function with heat. It is really a punishment to get so cold.:( My face, hands and feet goes red with cold and it feels as if my flesh are dieing - like frostbite. This starts happening when it is anywhere below 15C and even on hot days I get cold when I am in the shade.
