I am leaving....
on a much needed short vacation!!

A group of avian friends are going to New Mexico to visit Anna at her Macaw and Cockatoo Rescue of New Mexico!

I am freaking excited!!
I leave Thursday and return Sunday night so I won't be around till next week.

We are going to take a trip into the mountains, swim in her parents indoor pool, have a huge barbecue with lots of bird friends.
Our one goal is to make tons of parrot toys for all the birds at the rescue. With kind donations from many and our dear Kathie too, we have a huge stock pile of parts to put together!
I will take tons of pics! I am a bit nervous as it is my first time flying alone. I hope the guy sitting next to me is cute so I will feel better about holding his hand on take off!

I so need this get a way! I have never, ever done anything like this for myself before. Took 50 years! Mike has everything under control! (He thinks

) As long as Dexter does not get out and corner him, he will be OK!

So, I will be here till Wednesday night.

Learn to sleep during take off or at any other time for that matter. It is the best thing ever. Don't sleep much the night before so that when you get on the plane you fall right asleep.

I hope you have a wonderful time! Do not fear the plane, you can tell the birds you met you flew just like them....it's an instant conversation starter! Haha!
