I am disgusted with the human race

Wish I hadn't just read all this before bedtime! Its so upsetting. I tried to make a yahoo account to post the most disgusted, withering reply I could come up with but can't do it on my phone :-\ And i'm not going turning my computer on it'd wake Chewie up! If this 'man' is actually serious... surely it can't be... :'(

This is very sad. Any kind of injustice done in this life will be corrected in the Day of Judgement. Peace.

:( this type of abuse worries me when it comes to breeding any animals as pets. there will always be the people who care deeply for their pets, love them as family and care for what they need and try to work with them (one could give birth to a more difficult child than another, but do you lobotomize the 'brat'?? hope not. typically you try to find positive ways to work on the problems.) there will also always be people who see animals as creatures who exist for our amusement on one level or another instead of the independent beings they are.

i think as people who love and understand birds, we really 'get' how horrible it is to do something like this to such an intelligent and sensitive being.

i am vegetarian and want to be vegan but not quite there--partly because i am horrified by what is done to chickens on factory farms (i never ate beef anyhow, so i mention chickens because i ate them).

and yes, the title of this thread makes perfect sense. the things humans are capable of can really bring you down sometimes when you think about it.

This is sick!!! :( I feel so sad now!

This person has no business owning any type of animal and the "so called" vet should not a a license!!

I was able to post a reply on Yahoo!

Unfortunately there are sick people out there!

Brittish, I feel so bad for both of your dogs. People are starting to lose respect for animals. Are both of your dogs okay now?

I really think this guy is a troll trying to upset animal lovers. I read "satire" all over his writing style--especially when he asks if he should feed his bird biscuits and said his wife had plastic surgery. By upsetting us, he is getting the reaction he wants.

Yes, they both are in happy homes. I had a hard time with Roxy(the one that went blind and deaf) deciding if I should put her down or not because I felt her quality of life would not be so good. Her first night home after she lost her vision and sight was depressing. She found a corner beside the couch and laid there for days. She also would show aggressive behavior out of fear if you startled her, but after time she adapted. I gave her to a rescue who had experience dealing with blind dogs, and she keeps me updated with Roxy. She currently is living on a 7 acre farm with a loving family.

$1200 later, Spookie came home and recovered beautifully. I also had to rehome him though due to a new police trained German Shepherd. She was unable to continue her duty as a patrol dog due to severe aggression towards other dogs, and she would have killed Spookie. He is now my friend daughters best friend. A happy ending for both

I'm pretty sure he is too, but me posting this was more about the article(second link) and was unsure if anyone was aware of it. It had me livid that someone would make a joke out of it to get a rise.

How about having thiWWs man de-lipped! Its disgusting, how will this poor bird eat? Let alone how will it look, its gonna end up in a shelter or dead cause its no longer gonna be visually appealing to this monster maniac! Hate this! Had my one birds beak clipped by the man who brought him to me, and it looked so sore, I decided to not redo it. He's a happy biter lol!

What about de-clawing cats? I had never heard of this, until I discovered the internet..

Disgusting, isn't it? And it's not just cruelty towards parrots. People do it to their own kind. You might think, in the VERY least, people would favor their own species and treat it with respect, but no; humanity doesn't even have THAT going for it. It's across the board disrespect to and disregard of even the most basic PURPOSE of the things that humanity seeks to destroy. Hmm, at least there's no partiality! But that's not really a bragging point, rather an observation.

Don't let it completely kill your faith in humanity though. There's still good out there. After all, there're a lot of great parrot owners; you're going to have your nutjobs and ignorants in every aspect of life, in every institution, etc. Hard to see the good sometimes, but negativity does that. Gets it's big ugly head in front of everything actually worth noting...

Um question the bird/ african grey lives mainly on nuts, how in the hell is it supposed to crack the nuts without a beak? whats he going to do chew the birds food for it? or switch it over to babyfood

Exactly! I don't know why anyone would remove something that's necessary for natural living! Crazy.

how could someone do that!? it was his fault the bird bit, ok so lets multilate its beak. great plan. D:<. and he says "my beautiful African Grey" hes got to be kidding! that is a beautiful bird so if he loves it so much why would he get rid of its beak!? this is ignorance at its most extreme. i think the vet mislead them, but honestly its his fault if he agrees. and "pudding and biscuits"!? what kind of diet is that!? people have far more aggressive birds with much more painful bites but they get to keep their beaks. honestly how about he spends some time training the poor thing, its normal and beneficial not to mention cheaper. instead they will spend hundreds of dollars to mutilate their bird

Declawing cats is done here in Canada. I've known some that were perfectly sweet afterward, but others turns fearful or aggressive. Usually they only remove claws from the front feet, so that the cat may still have a change to climb. I wouldn't do this myself, but it is a practice here.

:mad::mad::mad:

Idiots like this enrage me to no end...this is wrong on sooo many levels.. rather than stepping over the line... I'll just this...I-D-I-O-T

You do realise the debeaking of the african grey is probably 90% certain a troll post though right? Made to get a laugh out of people who rage over it.
You can get as enraged as you want but its an anonymous poster on the internet.
Its best to put your energy into a specific cause, there are a lot of troll posts around on the internet. No vet will cut a birds beak off entirely.
