We lost 24 hours of electricity yesterday . My mom had to make breakfast by grilling eggs lol my fids didn't even notice anything.Hope everybody is safe. Do you know that the storm is turning into some parts a blizzard ? Snowing a in October !

Wendy, your neighborhood is similar to mine. Mostly missing siding, roof damage, trees fallen on homes and cars. My house has siding damage, attic window blew in (that was nuts how windy it was during the storm trying to get it reasonably secured again) and porch roof is damaged, as well as the fence blew down between mine and neighbor's home. And yet i'm one of the luckier ones in the neighborhood. Very sad. My best friend lives on LBI and her home is still standing with minimal damage from all reports so far!! I am so relieved for her.

in long island people had to be evacuated but they didnt leave. Lots of people died because even though they were in the danger zone and the fire marshell had to knock on doors they dint leave.I think it was stuiped for people not leaving even though they could end up dead the next day. Most people died because when trees fall on powerlines they break the cord and the electricity starts a fire. My dads office is near manhatten and it was COMPLETLY flooded. he cant go there for the next 2 weeks. Since my dad owns his archetect buisness he has to pay for all the repairs. Cant belive the birds didnt even notice that theyre thermo perch isnt working, its pitch black in the house and it was freezing in the morning. Did anyone buy a genorator ? my cousin and her family wont have elctricicty for the next 2 weeks and they dont have a genorator.

i live on the east coast but not right near the ocean. i live in western NY/ so we werent THAT affected. we got some good rain and wind and by my house a few inchs of snow but the next day is rained and melted it. we lost power fr a day or 2. but nothing major. a few tree branches fell down in my neighborhood. one decent sized one on my roof. caused a bit of damage. but we were getting a new roof in summer 2013 anyways. hope anyone closer to the storm is safe!
