Hello folks, I am a new member and husband of another new member. For those of you who have met her, my name will say it all. I have watched her just get lose in this site with a big laugh or an "oh wow" or a "well, the Forum says..." every now and then so I had to see what it was all about. The Rickeybird predates our relationship and has pretty much seen me as an intruder all along. I will have to admit that I am just not a bird person but over time I have come to understand a little bit about it. This bird has been the source of so many complications (living situations, expenses, noises, destruction of remote controls and stuff, and I admit it, we've had some fights over him regarding this or that). I always thought that my dear wife was a one of a kind as far as the bird thing, but after roaming around in here a bit, well, I see there is an army of you out there. An army of people who read and study every last tidbit of bird info, spend endless hours just gazing dreamily into a little reptilian eyeball, nurse ugly bites now and then, obsess happily about toys-cages-safety-food, and who count these little colorful alien creatures among their dearest loves.
I guess mostly I just want to say howdy and thank you for bringing delight to a lady who deserves every smile or good word she could ever get, my dear wife. Despite many challenges, she is and has always been the bravest, sweetest, most giving person I know.
Now as far as that parrot goes....................... we have made an uneasy truce over time. He hates the very sight of me, and I can't really say I'm fond of him, but I love the strange magic he brings to my wife's life. So carry on, bird folks. And thanks again.
