??? how safe is the toys made with alchol

i found a site someone recommended for making my own toys..it is made with alchol and cake coloring..it works really great..i was surprised in how well it did work..i was just curious about using the alchol..i know it evaporates but it still makes me nervous..my vet is gone for the week.and i don't think this is what they would call an emergency so ...i will ask you guys..HA..HA..has anyone else done this..god i have been trying for a few years to get something to work for coloring their wood..i tried food coloring but probably did it wrong..any ides would be great..thanks..deedee

how much food colouring did you put in? because half a bottle or little bit of a bottle aint enough... unless you want a washed out colour, you have use the full thing. ive never heard of using alcohal but i heard of using vineger with food colouring. If you want a pastel colour you can use the cake food colouring.

I've read on a few sites about using alcohol to stain the wood. Personally I haven't tried it, but I have seen it quite a bit.

Ive used alcohol to stain a porcelain bowl at my place, but that was more a by product of a big night in.
