I have read about how to hand feed but I wouldn't try doing it as I'd be to scared just I case I messed it up maybe in years to come I will give it a try but for the time being I'm happy enough to wait to get sky my bfa from the breeder :)

I'm staying out of this one,LOL

Birds are cheap here, rehomes are more than babies, and they're getting cheaper.

$800 nearly 10 years ago at a local bird club's fair. It was a little much for him, but he did come from a very well known breeder that no longer offers them.

Well, we gave $600 for her. She is a Yellow Shouldered Amazon- looks simular to a Double Yellow Headed Amazon except she is a tad smaller. :greenyellow:

More recently in my area, I've seen DYHAs offered at $1300 and a YNA for $1800 at local pet stores.

Roy was $800, found his cage on craigslist for $15 and his travel cage for $25. I can hand feed him, he know step up and in your cage (when he feels like it). He started talking as soon as we brought him home, "Oh, Alright!" is his favorite.

Well we paid $1,300 for our YNA who will be coming home in 2 weeks or so. I know that sounds expensive but they are hard to find here. But if you think about it look at their lifespan so really its not that bad. We could have gotten some other species cheaper but we feel in love with this one. We have gotten our other 2 birds from the same place and they have the best birds in our area. Can't wait to get him/her home!

That sounds really expensive.. Well, I guess it will be worth it. :rainbow1:

I got Hunter, my YN for $800 13 years ago. She was 14 weeks when I brought her home, and her breeder and I have been best friends since :) Sam, my DYH was $850 + $130 for "flying" him to Jersey. No complaints here, especially considering what local pet shops ask for these beauties.
