Kiwi is clipped, but we let him come to the table to "share" meals (i.e. he gets a little of our food with his food) so he feels included:) My husband though just sets him down and leaves (and we all know what zons do when they have free run of a table full of food:p).

Not to leave Kiwi unattended with food on the table:eek:! Now, Kiwi wasn't so much eating the sandwich as he was mauling/ripping it up, but still. He left the creature on the table, unattended with a sandwich, and then couldn't believe THIS happened:

Needless to say, Joe got to eat a half-mauled sandwich for lunch:D (As for the sandwich destroyer, he was given some blueberries and banana for lunch).

Ha ha ha ha haaaaaa. Us men never seem to listen...We have brain farts.

That said, kiwi looks like she just had the " Wow....For Meeeeeeee???" moment.....who would turn that yummy sandwhich down?

Surely not my Zon or Grey.....they would be like "Hey.....look what I found!! a sandwich and it's mine all mine....( evil Laugh) "

Yeah, like it matters how many times you tell him...

Husband's listen. Really, they do.

They smile, and nod their heads, and appear to understand...

Oh, wait, were you still talking. I'm sorry. I zoned out there for a moment...

a very looooonng moment.

LOL.....my wife always ask me to repeat what she just said to
make sure I heard it....lol......Huh?

WHAT? WHAT WAS THAT.... DID YOU SAY DINNER WAS READY?

Oh, I thought I heard something about food being about... :D

I figured that meant dinner was almost ready. :32:

As for an amazon, you're forgetting the basic parrot laws for humans:

Parrot Laws which Humans must obey!

If I like it, it’s mine.
If it’s in my mouth, it’s mine.
If I can take it from you, it’s mine.
If I had it a lit*tle while ago, it’s mine.
If it’s mine, it must never appear to be yours in any way.
If I’m chew*ing some*thing up, all the pieces are mine.
If it just looks like mine, it’s mine.
If I saw it first, it’s mine.
If it is shiny its mine and you must give it to me!
If you are eat*ing it, it’s also mine and you must share it!
If you are play*ing with some*thing and you put it down, it auto*mat*i*cally becomes mine.
If you think it may be yours, you are sadly mis*taken because it is actu*ally mine.
Every*thing that is not sup*posed to be mine, is MINE!
If it’s bro*ken, it’s yours.

The dinner laws apply too....even if you feed them same time as you eat.
My Grey is well known for seeking more and better.

The other parrot has a bigger bowl of food than I, not fair
I'm going to eat the other parrots food instead.

How come your plate is bigger than my bowl?

Don't eat that ! I'm going to eat that.

You don't need to eat that ( fling) so we'll give that one to the dog.

Spit spit spit....your actually eating that stuff? "What is it" ( Poppie always ask before tasting) she'll either say yum...or yeck.

Don't chew that...gimme gimme gimme.

who needs a fork (fling)

You got more than me, I'll help you eat it.

We took Venus out to eat recently and we were on the outdoor patio. She was on my shoulder, then the burgers arrived and within seconds there's a loud, heavy SMACK and an Ekkie in the middle of my plate. She has no grace when she jumps. And she went to town on my bun. She wasn't happy when I removed her from my plate, I put her on the table, by her plate of goodies, lettuce, lemon slices, cheerios and almonds but no, it had to be the burger. Even a pinch of bun wasn't working so I took my burger off the plate, and put her goodies on the plate and took hers. That seemed to do it for 5 seconds, lol. I let her have a pinch of patty.

I could feed Smokey, and have my dinner on the coffee table. She would stop munching on HER stuff, climb down her cage and waddle over to me,and prance from one foot to the other, all the while with he tongue sticking out and wiggling side to side, and she would not STOP.

I'd cave, give her a piece of whatever, and she'd chew abit then fling it across the room, wanting something else.

Ya,she'd get a piece of burger,or chicken,even a spoon of smashed taters.
A small slice of corn on the cob would be what she would want, walking back and climbing her house wall to the roof.
At times she'd drop with while climbing and I'd pick it up for her and wait till she reached the roof and give it back,to be completely consumed. :52:

I have a question, did Kiwi have ham and cheese breath after his sandwich adventure? I ask because today, I was working on some serious work issues, Venus sitting with me, had a small tuna sandwich close by which Venus kept trying to indulge in. I gave her a pinch and she ate it, no crumbs, but after, talk about serious tuna breath, lol.

Ugh. I am sorry you are experiencing bad bird breath:31:. It was actually not ham, it was turkey and he was more after the cheese and bread (Kiwi won't eat meat, thank god). As a vegan, I stay away from the mouths of meat eats (human and avian;)) after eating animal products for a while. Since Kiwi can't brush, I always feed him an anise star and wait a few hours before I kiss him:54: But yes, Kiwi can have some pretty bad breath from time to time:52: Anise stars are like a tick tac for parrots and freshens their bad breath right up (and are a healthy and fun treat:)).

I once had a bird who I gave a piece of garlic flavored pasta to. She ended up having garlic breath for days on end. I guess it permeated her skin lol!

I thought after I originally posted, that the sandwich actually looked like turkey, not ham :).
