Hellloooo fellow bird.. nut? lol

Well, I have two little lovies who, basically own me.

Kirby was my first lovie and he was bought almost 10 months ago. Kirby is we think around 2 years old and is a seagreen with a bright blue bum and cream face. He is a very snuggly bird in his own independant way. He doesn't like being scratched or petted, but he loves to just be on your shoulder to enjoy your company (or juice or food that he wants that you're eating)
We've endured many a bite from him, but he has now realised that if he has the urge to bite, give us a warning!!!

Skittles (who is an Ino yellow lutino), wow now this bird is the total opposite on what lovebird owners have said on female lovies. She was bought about 5 months after I bought Kirby (and the two of them were originally housed together in the little store where they both came from). She was sitting in her cage for 8 months previously and no one wanted her because A) she was too old for breeding, she's around 12 and B) She's downright nasty in her cage (but I would be too lol) Not too mention she didn't leave her plastic cube for over 2 months, so she was flat footed and FAT. No lies, she had a buddah belly on her weighing in at 58 grams haha. She's down to 50 grams and looks sexy ;)

Sooo home came Skittles and I did a no-no and skipped quarantine between the two (they would've had the same thing by now anyways) and it was love at first sight again!

Skittles is the most snuggliest and kind lovebirds I have ever met. She frequently comes on car rides to the Hospital to visit the terminal care patients, she's so easy going a little 5 year old can hold her and pet her. You can play with her beak and she'll groom you so gently.

Hello :) I'm Bridgette and I have one bird. I just got her on August 4th, 2009. She had originally been named "Sammy" when I adopted her but she didn't show any response to the name and I didn't like it so I changed it to "Tinkerbell" because on the way home from getting her I had to transport her in a cat carrier and she was VERY unhappy about this. So I put my iPhone on and had the movie Tinkerbell on she calmed down for a bit and said Tinkerbell. So I'm going her Tink or Tinker.

I was told she is 4 years old but with no proof I can't be sure at all.

So far she likes to babble a lot. Most of it doesn't really make sense but she barks, laughs and says a few things like "What are you doing" "Hello" "Pretty Bird"

She seems ecstatic about her new properly sized cage. She hasn't paid any attention at all to the $200.00 worth of awesome toys I bought for her lol. She doesn't bit at all even when irritated. She likes to snuggle and give kisses. She does the crazy Cockatoo headbanging... but only for my dad (weird right?)

Awww, your bird sounds lovely. I am so happy to hear you rescued her, I read on one of your previous posts that her previous cage was 3x’s too small and wasn’t paid attention to by her previous owners so it’s so nice to her that she’ll be able have an excellent quality of life. Congratulations! You sound like a beaming parent.

Did you keep the packaging? Not to return them, but give her that instead.

When you buy a bird a toy the process upon getting it home is to open up the box, throw away the toy, and let them have the box. It works out much better!

Or save money and make up some things with coffee filters and old paper back books.

The best bird toys are rarely found in stores, and when they are they're almost NEVER in the bird section. Cat toys are great.

Auggie's favorite toys to keep (rather than junk to shred) are a match box car I pulled from a box of cereal, a furry cat toy that cost a buck, and some rubber duckies.
