- gcc Parry; lovebird Coco; 3 budgies (Tesla, Franky and Cesar); cockatiel Murzik, red rump parakeet girl Onyx
Hi again,
I started noticing a little problem with my birds' sleep habits. They are all housed in close proximity to each other (and I cannot put them anywhere else). My birds have very different needs for sleep - my gcc never sleeps more than 8-9 hours with no day naps, and budgies are also not long sleepers, but my cockatiel and especially lovebird want much more sleep (like me, LOL). When the first one wakes up in the morning he wakes up everybody else with joyful chirping (usually the budgies). Parry would just scream if I don't take off his cage cover. I tried to place lovie and cockatiel in a sleep cage earlier, but didn't work since other birds were still very loud. So I hope they can nap during the day, but I'm not sure they are getting enough sleep. We have one story house and when we cover all cages at 10pm the latest we are still around for quite a bit of time. I sometimes need to practice piano until late, but that doesn't seem to bother them too much.
How do you guys solve these problems? It's not a real problem yet since they are all very active, but Coco is sometimes moody at night and in the mornings (like me!) and I feel she doesn't get as much sleep as she needs.
