Hi there ,
I have just joined your site. I do not have any bird yet , but have found the baby eclectus Im hoping to buy in the next day or 2. Hopefully will be picking him up in about 2 weeks. Im very excited.
I have been waiting for an eclectus for a few years.
Im a married mum , have 3 teenagers, work part time - just 12 hours pw. I am in Sydney Australia.
Any tips, help or advice would be greatly appreciated about owning an eclectus.
My new baby Im about to purchase is just on 3 months old and will be handed over in another 2 weeks if all else is ok.
But have just been advised by another breeder, whilst looking for my baby this week that buying an ecelctus as a first time bird might be a mistake.
Would appreciated any views on this, so Im feeling a little lost today since recieving her email today. I have been doing a fair amount of reading on them, although everything cant come from a book , every bird has their own personality. I also know they can live for up to 50 years and need lots of attention and time which I have only working 12 hrs pw.
Any views on this , is an eclectus the wrong bird for a 1st time owner ???
Thanks , hope to get lots of valuable info thru here.
Robyn
