Help!

Hey everyone, first time lovebird baby owner here. I have two peachface lovebirds who took a few years to have there first actual eggs hatch to babies. We had 4 eggs however one was born on 5/1 and by two days later two eggs were gone. he’s going exceptionally well. We had another baby born 11/1 which was the only other egg left. He was progressing a little but wasn’t maturing very well, today I found him passed in the box. Any reason as to why this would happen? Older lovebird baby is healthy and just so confused on why my poor little baby has passed? is this normal? They are not hand fed or in touch with humans. I

just check them every day as the parents get nippy with me when entering the Aviary. Pic of our older baby lovebird

I'm so sorry a baby died. It's really difficult for anyone to say why this happened. You say that the baby wasn't maturing well and that could be because at five days younger than his sibling he wasn't getting enough food. Larger babies can dominate so much in the nest that smaller, younger ones can't compete. It's also possible that this baby was too weak or defective in some way to survive and mature to adulthood.

Fortunately you have one healthy baby and he's adorable!
