My first adoption was a YNA older than me. HAHA
So many birds have entered my home with different diets. YNAs react big time to diet changes. Pellets are great, but if you haven't already, work in fruits and vegetables.
Start with something she likes. You mentioned blueberries. (Be ready for dark poop.) Supply a separate bowl and add a few blueberries to a few bits of bell pepper. Each day add more bell pepper. Add something else, like carrots, and remove some blueberries. YNAs are usually suckers for apple, so replace the blueberries with apple. Next, add cooked quinoa and uncooked chia soaked in juice. Slowly add a variety of vegetables and grains. Save the blueberries as treats.
Something many owners forgeut is raw pasta. The wagon-wheel shaped works well as does simple linguini. These make for nutritious toys that she'll fly through.
You'll probably need to add something like BeneBac... ask your AV. It can help with diet changes and slow GI troubles without causing liver damage. It can actually be bought online without a prescription. Again, I suggest talking to your AV first.
Drs. Roudybush, Harrison and Lefaber generally recommend a diet change take up to 12 months depending on the bird. For example, my conures switched in a week, while it's been almost 5 months and my WCP still is at half and half.
