Hi all,

Any advice MUUUUCH appreciated!

My partner and I have been wanting to get a parrot for years! In the last 6months we have been concentrating solely on researching African Greys. Obviously we were aware that African Greys produce a lot of dust. However we have now found out that due to a condition our 2 yr old son has - Greys unfortunately are a no-no for us due to the dust/down they create.

I was just wondering if there are any parrot breeds who don't create this ?

Thanks all,

Deanna

yep there are a lot of other parrot breeds that don't create dust. all i know myself is that
greys, macaws, cockatoos, and cockatiels are dusty. oh and soooome amazons, apparently.

Conures might be the most hypo allergenic of them all. It was on my list for why I chose one. Very little dust and they bathe almost every day. Sometimes more than once a day.

Eclectus!!! they are supposed to be very very very hypo allergenic birds! and they are looooovely
