So I have had Dusty a wonderful 8 years <3
About a year after I got Dusty he started hating men. He will lunge, bite and chase any men that get too close to him.
The only "man" he likes is my younger brother who is 18 years old. My brother can safely take Dusty from his cage and in fact dusty will willingly go to my brother.
My boyfriend, who I live with on the other hand cannot get anywhere near Dusty. If Dusty is on my shoulder and he gets too close either i or my boyfriend gets bit. If my boyfriend walks too close to Dusty's cage dusty tried to lunge at him through the bars...
My boyfriend really wants to be a part of Dusty's life but Dusty's temperament gets in the way...
I am looking on suggestions on way to make the relationship between Dusty and my Boyfriend better....
My boyfriend cleans the parts of his cage that he can reach without getting bitten. he cleans and fills his food and water dishes. He even gives him treats. Which I should mention is the only time Dusty doesn't try to bite him! If my Boyfriend has a blueberry or grape in hand Dusty will take the treat gently. once that treat is gone, Dusty goes right back into attack mode....
