Hi I don't own any birds yet but I hope to in the future. I'm currently doing butt loads of research and saving up money so I can own a feathered friend of my own. I'm home schooled so I don't interact with people as much as I used to so I think a bird could be a wonderful companion to hang out with everyday and create an in depth bond with. Hopefully this forum alongside other resources can prepare me for my future buddy. :gcc: <3

Hello and welcome to the forum! It's awesome you are doing your research, that can definitely set you up for success with a new feathered friend:)
There are some good threads about costs associated with having a parrot here too, after the initial price.
Here is one to check out, just some more things to think about:

I'm glad you joined us!

Welcome! I had a conure and a quaker in high school and college. That was a long time ago.... I feel old now. It's hard to have birds at that age but rewarding. I worked at an aviary is how I picked it up, the conure went back to the aviary when I went to college because I couldn't keep a bird that loud on campus but my quaker was with me until he passed away. Wonderful friends they were.

I've had the same bird for 34 years, and I was a grown woman when I got him... *I* feel old!

I second the thoughts above. Good for you for researching and reaching out.
