Buddie 2 year old Sun Conure
ONES Enough!
I am a new mommy to Buddie the Sun Conure. He is 5 months old .After a trip to Mexico where they had an Amazon named Pepe..I decided I wanted a Parrot.
I found Buddie at Petco. Buddie stole my heart the minute I held him but it took a few weeks to figure out if I had time to dedicate to a new baby and get the money together.
Yesterday I went back to the store, bought Buddie, spent more money on Buddies cage ,toys food and snacks than I did Buddie.
Buddie is a real sweety, he loves to cuddle and when I go out of the room he has a fit screaming until I return. He will let my husband and son hold him, until he hears my voice or sees me.
I am the mom to 9 human children, 4 grandchildren and 2 dogs, one dog that I adopted from Mexico a couple years ago. My husband and I love camping, boating on Lake Erie and vacationing in Mexico.
I am sure I can take advantange of the knowledge of experianced Parrot parents here on the forum even after all of the stuff I have been reading.

Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new baby birdy:)

Welcome to the forums!! Congrats on your new baby!

Just a word of advice with the screaming when you leave the room. You want to stop that as soon as you can with training. My boy does that too (I have a Scarlet Macaw) and it just got worse as he got older. The way to stop it is to get a toy that makes noise, a bell works wonderfully. Teach your baby that when he rings the bell you'll give him attention but when he screams you won't.

Welcome to the forum. Buddie sound so adorable. They do know how to wrap us around their little toes. :) I can sooo relate to the spending more on all the accessories than the bird. But they are so worth it.

I have never owned a,Sun Conure so I can't help you much. Will look forward to seeing pics of Buddie. :red1:

Hi And welcome! sounds like you have a full time mom-job!
I love sun conures, and would love to have one but i have my hands full with my own two, so a 3rd bird is not in our near future :)
the screaming thing is something you might want to spend some time on... it's cute at first, but it may get annoying as it goes on. nothing that some simple (but persistant) training can't fix though :)
