He seems to be learning so much already. I brought him home on Saturday... He likes to lay on his back and for me to rub his belly. He likes to eat. (alot) and already gives kisses.

He's quite a cutie and very pretty... Congrats!

Hi and Welcome to the Forum, and CONGRATS on Bailey! He's a pretty cutie-pie. :D

I got my Niko when he was 4 months, and he was still a bit clumsy at that age. He didn't play or chew on the BIG blocks of wood that he beavers through now. He actually seemed to prefer Amazon sized toys while he was that age. However, he did (and still does) LOVES foraging toys, like the Big 4-drawers, and his stainless bell. He also loved his boing from the very beginning, spending many hours bouncing up and down.

What they do a lot of at that age is EXPLORE, watch, listen & learn ;)

The more you talk to him, the more you show him, the more you interact, the better for him (and you). Teach him the "step up" "step down" commands, they will always come in handy.

Does he have a playstand/tree where he can spend time when he's not in his cage? If not, I highly suggest you get one. My Niko spends little time in his cage. He's either on the Java Tree, or getting into mischief elsewhere in the house.

Their brains are like sponges, they take everything in, suck up so much info.

Best of luck with Bailey, and never hesitate to ask questions. ;)

WOW. he does love his bell, he is still VERY clumsey, we are teaching the "step up" and "step down". He does not stay in his cage as long as we are at home. He has a climbing-stand-thing.. he LOVES it. we have built him toys out of a natural rope and cut wood up into pieces and drilled holes in it and ran it together and tied knots in it.. he uses it to climb on! and LOVES it. we built the stand out of pvc and used the wooden perches and wrapped the pvc uprights in rope too.

I'm late commenting on this post but Bailey looks adorable. I hope he's still doing well.
