Hello everyone..

I do not own any birds, however I have wanted to for a few years now. I am 21 years old and live in Ontario, Canada. In April I will finish college and officially be a registered social service worker and then I will be going back to school for nursing. Because life has been so busy these past few years and will be for a few years to come I have chosen not to get a bird right now. It is still a dream of mine and I am sure when the time is right I will get one. I am always lurking these forums because I love to see photos of parrots and get ideas for the day that I eventually get my own, so I thought I'd sign up.

Welcome to the forum, Ryan. I think you are doing the right thing and waiting until you have the time, and income, before adding a parrot. But, it's good you are here and can learn as much as you can first!

I had to wait until I was done with college and owned my own home to have certain animals. It was hard, but it was the best thing for the critters, too.

Hey Ryan, Welcome to the forum. You'll make a great parrot owner when the time comes. maybe you should give some thought towards a future service animal (well socialized parrot) that you could carry to work with you.

When eventually getting the bird, you will at least know what to expect and what is expected of you.
