Hello all!

I'm also owned by a GW Macaw (+ 3 other parrots), and they, too can make EXCELLENT family members if socialized properly. My big red guy willingly goes to strangers without ever removing any limbs. :D

Evidence of Wendy's claims that her big red guy does not remove limbs. (I'm feigning the look of nervousness on my face. Really, I am! [emoji57])

Isn't he, though? For reference, I'm 6'3", and that's my male eclectus, Bixby, in that travel cage. Weighing in that morning at a respectable 428 grams. See how little he looks all of a sudden?

Stephen, what a gorgeous picture of you and Ripley! I don't think you look nervous at all! (Much:))

Hahaha! Thanks, Terry! It was my first time holding a macaw, and I was just taken a little off-guard by that chomper. That's a whole lot of beak! [emoji23]

And my dear friend Tab didn't make me feel any better about my nervousness, either. She teased that it was "silly to be afraid of something so much smaller than you." Sigh. [emoji19]
