Harness on a Zon?

Did anyone here managed to put a harnes on your Amazon parrot?
Yellow shouldered Amazon is supposed to be the most flexible out of most of Zons to touching, but I still have a lot of problems with Marley.
The only thing we achieved so far is to get her head through the big (shoulder) loop, and holding it on her she gets a treat. I remove it right after.
She doesn't like me touching her wings, and her being a bit hormonal right now I don't even know if I should.
I have this bird for about 1 month right now. Should I wait till she knows me better?
I want to know if this is possible for Amazons being comfy with harness on.
I like big challenges and would like to go on with trying, but I want to hear few success stories first.........
Most of the demonstrations for this Aviator Harness show all kind of birds, but I didn't see many Amazons wearing it. I think I have seen only one video with Zone and the Aviator Harness.

You may like big challenges, but your Amazon might not and this could be a good way of making her not trust you if you don't take it at HER pace, not yours. Don't create distrust and fear in your Amazon by moving too quickly. Take things slowly.

I bought a harness for Jackie a month ago or something lol I have yet to even attempt to put it on him...it hangs on his jungle gym though and it doesn't bother him. I've just been so busy with other life stuff so it hasn't been a priority. Like you, I'm hoping to get him to wear it someday lol I have been taking him outside though...so he's been getting used to going outside- I don't know if he's ever been outdoors!! At first it was just quick trips because there's a lot for him to take in- trees, wild birds, the wind, etc....and now he's comfortable being outside with me as I water the plants.

WOW!!! Outside???? I assume your bird's wings are clipped, right?....:11:
My bird's wings are not clipped, and it kills me to think that she is missing out by not enjoying the outdoors....
I would love to build the flight outside, but doesn't look like it's going to happen this year (our Summers are fairly short). So, the only thing for her is this "monster" HARNESS. If only she could understand that, it could make our attempts so much easier on her and on me......:54:

I take my amazon out in a small cage, he loves it.
Sometimes I even drag his big one out. We do showers on the deck, outside dinners and even go to the park and visiting. I still want to try the harness,I bought one but I have to get to using it.

I haven't had much luck with adult amazons . Seems like if you ever have a bad experience while training you can never progress. Once they fear it ,your done. I have harness trained babies and that works pretty well. When handfeeding everyday it's possible to accustom them to the harness and they don't think it's strange to be on them. They will "pick" at it but give them something to occupy them and they don't seem to mind having it on. In other words it's much easier to harness train unfledged/unweaned birds than adults IMO.

Yes, his wings are clipped but growing out....but even birds with clipped wings can still fly. I only take him outside for a few minutes at a time though, and I understand all the risks involved with what I'm doing. I also wouldn't recommend it to anyone. But..we live in the country, it's very quiet, and I can read his reactions- I know when he's scared vs content with what's going on.

I bought a flight jacket....w/ an attachable leash. Anneliese is NOT happy when I put the flight suit on her. Not to mention, my hands are bitten repeatedly while trying to dress her. (not skin-breaking bites...but hard pinches). And I bought the prettiest one I could find!!!!!!! HAHAHAHA!!! A DIVA...she ain't!
