Harness extensions?

Hi,
For my future galah (home in 2weeks), I've purchased an Aviator harness. I realised that the original leash from the pack is very short . I was just wondering for when we get more experienced in flying, could I use a dog leash as an extension? The Aviator flight extension lines available here are very limited and the maximum is 3 metres. My old dog leash is around 5m which is better than nothing though, so can I use my dog leash for my cockatoo?

Hi Marley. I use the aviator harness a lot too. Personally I just use the aviator harness extensions that come with the flight line as I feel they are safest. Regarding your dog leash it would be useful if we could see a picture. My concern with a dog leash is that the way it would attach to the harness line could be risky (ie breaking/snapping) or too heavy. Anyway good luck with your harness adventures.
