We got Rue, a female pearl cockatiel in need of a better home, last year on this day from one of my husband's coworkers. I still remember the terribly small, dirty cage she was in and how scared she was to be taken out.
A year later...a lot has changed! She bonded with my whiteface grey male, Boo, and moved into his spacious flight cage with him. She learned to trust me and now takes treats from me without being scared. She and Boo then started a family!
And here she is today (middle), with her two 5 week old babies!!
